Project Generation D (PGD) is an after-school program for pre-teens and teens ages 10-17 years old. PGD provides students with a positive environment to flourish in the creative digital arts and gives students the tools they need to express themselves creatively.
Project Generation D offers pre-teens and teens high-quality, comprehensive courses in creative technology and digital arts. Project Generation D encourages individual creative expression and team-building while satisfying several educational standards for a comprehensive learning experience.
Coursework: Project Generation D's creative digital arts curriculum includes music production (beat making, recording, turntablism, song writing), video production (directing, production, script writing) and graphic design. Students will learn the basics of each discipline and use what they learn to complete individual and team projects that will be showcased in various ways.
The students that participated are so proud of their finished products- this program has produced a HUGE boost in confidence and belief in their own capabilities and success. The program last year was well planned out and sessions so productive. PGD offers an outlet for creative students with talent that may have been overlooked in traditional scholastic or performing arts classes. Not only are they having a great time, but they are also learning marketable technology and computer skills. Their sessions are documented on the Project Generation D website, but the energy and “sparks” that fly with PGD's influence do not fully translate.
